JEŠTĚD The dominant feature of Liberec is the 1012-metre high Ještěd Mountain, atop which is the remarkable silhouette of a television transmission tower and mountain hotel. This unusual structure also required unusual building procedures, some of which were tried out in practice for the very first time. The designer of the project was architect Karel Hubáček, who was presented with the highly prestigious Perret Award for his work. In fact the building itself has won a great many awards for its originality, for example it is a national cultural monument and the Building of the 20th Century, with efforts now being made to have it listed as a UNESCO monument. There is a wonderful view of the surrounding area from the top of the mountain, which can be reached on foot or by cable car. Meanwhile, the slopes of Ještěd Mountain offer ideal conditions for winter and summer sports and so it comes as no surprise that the place is a magnet for tourists all year round. Beautiful walks gets you in the fairy-tale like world of elves and nymphs. During your trips you will find a lot of blueberries, forrest strawberries, blackberries, cranberries and for sure some mushrooms. Your apartament is directly on red line which leads you to some interesting places. Below are short description of few trips but we will show you more than that.
Main spring of the river Ploučnice is located 200 metres from apartments. This river joins Labe river in Dečín, 105 km from here. This spring area is one of the strongest in central Europe.
This pond is right next to Ploučnice spring area and serves for fishing. Close mill was first mentioned in 1590.
Massive sand-stone outhang near to Druzcov. It was highest locality of prehistoric settlement in this area (6000 BC).
Famous lime-tree is in little village Kotel. It is 25 m high and perimetr of its trunk is 9 m. Nearby is another lime-tree which is 23 m heigh and has perimetr of its trunk is 6 m. These are most monumental trees in north Bohemia.
Baroque sculpture was donated by abbess from convent of St. Jacob in Vienna. It was made by famous sculptor Mathyas Braun and portrayals three saints - St. Helen, St. Jan and St. Paul. You will find this sculpture in Osečná.
Small sand stone in Osečná in the direction to local cemetery. Has a nice view over valley. 
Ruins of castle which is believed to be established by famous czech king Přemysl Otakar II. Castle has never been conquered. In 1645 was damaged by Swedish soldiers and begun its desolation. Still there is pretty well-preserved walls, buttery and water well. Underground is protected bat area.
